Is Invisalign right for you?
If silver braces aren’t an option for you because of your job or lifestyle, then it’s time to consider Invisalign — a highly discreet orthodontic solution that won’t affect your appearance and fits right into your day to day life. Invisalign allows you to carry out a normal routine while you work toward straighter teeth. You might even begin to smile more often because of it!
What Benefits Are There?
Invisalign takes the hassle out of orthodontic treatment by allowing you to remove the aligners whenever you want to enjoy your favorite foods. That’s right — there are no food restrictions with Invisalign, which means you can enjoy all of the popcorn, apples, chips and bagels that you want!
In reality, you shouldn’t need to remove your Invisalign aligners other than when eating, and that’s because each aligner is crafted from comfortable, BPA-free plastic. You’ll also be wearing aligners that are customized for the movement of your teeth, making them more convenient to wear.
Getting Started On Your Invisalign Treatment
Our orthodontist will confirm whether you are a candidate for Invisalign and review how the treatment process works. Before receiving your aligners, our orthodontist will take scans of your teeth, which are sent over to an Invisalign laboratory. The lab uses the technology to predict the movement of your teeth and fabricates aligners specifically for you.
You will receive five aligners at once that you will use for two weeks at a time, and come back for new aligners every 10 weeks. Our orthodontist will also ensure that your teeth are responding appropriately to treatment. As you switch out your aligners, you will begin to notice the gradual movements your teeth are making.
There are different types of Invisalign depending on the severity of your orthodontic issues. Some require longer treatment with more aligners than others, so it varies from 3 to 12 months depending on your situation. Your orthodontist will know which type is best for you after the initial exam and x-rays. See below to read about the specific types of treatment.
